This online course is designed for primary school teachers and subject leaders who want to develop high-quality design and technology (D&T) curriculum and lessons. Whether you’re new to D&T or seeking to enhance your current curriculum, this hands-on session will provide you with the tools and confidence to deliver engaging, impactful lessons.

The session will additionally highlight best practices, using acclaimed D&T planning resource 'Projects on a Page'.  There are 23 planners that cover Food and Nutrition, Textiles, Structures, Mechanisms, Electronics and Programming and Control. It is a flexible scheme of work for D&T that helps schools to deliver a breadth of excellent primary design and technology.

  • Break down the contents of one or more POAP units

By participating in this course, you will learn how to:

  • Use Projects on a Page as a planning tool.
  • Use Projects on a Page to develop a sequence of lessons.
  • Learn how POAP can address the key design skills of design, make, and evaluate.
  • Ensure content coverage and progression through the key stages.
  • Contextualise learning.

  • Plan engaging lessons with a variety of learning opportunities.
