World Book Day primary D&T competition 2026 – terms and conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before entering.

  1. Promoter

The promoter of this competition is the Design & Technology Association.

  1. Eligibility
  • The competition is open to UK primary teachers only.
  • Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
  • Employees of the Design & Technology Association and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  1. Competition period
  • The competition opens on 5 March 2026.
  • Entries close at 23:59 on 12 March 2026.
  • Entries received after this time will not be counted.
  1. How to enter

To enter, participants must:

  • Follow the Design & Technology Association on the specified social media platform
  • Like the official giveaway post

Tagging a colleague is optional and not required for entry.

  1. The prize
  • One winner will receive the following books:
    • The Inventor’s Workshop by Ruth Amos
    • The Stuff that Stuff is Made Of by Jonathan Drori
    • Pip by Jess Rose
    • The Girl Who Thought in Pictures by Julia Finley Mosca
    • The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires
    • Oliver’s Vegetables by Vivian French
  • The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  • The Design & Technology Association reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.
  1. Winner selection and notification
  • The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
  • The draw will take place after the closing date.
  • The winner will be announced on 13 March 2026 via social media.
  • The winner must be following the Design & Technology Association at the time of the draw.
  • The winner will be contacted via direct message and must respond within 7 days. If no response is received, the promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
  1. Publicity

By entering the competition, the winner agrees to the use of their name and, where appropriate, school name and photograph for promotional purposes related to this competition, without additional compensation.

  1. Data protection

Any personal data supplied will be used solely for the administration of this competition and in accordance with the Design & Technology Association’s privacy policy. Data will not be shared with third parties and will not be used for marketing purposes without consent.

  1. General
  • The promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.
  • The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters relating to the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform used to promote it.

By entering this competition, participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
