Mike Hardman

I was a full-time teacher of DT for 28+ years. I was a Curriculum Lead for a chain of Academies, I was the lead writer of the curriculum for 4 academies for Design Technology, I also ran a DT department. I taught RM (KS3 & 4), PD (KS 3, 4 & 5), Catering (yr10), Food and Nutrition (KS3), Construction, level 1 and 2

Over the last 20+ years I have been involved with writing and implementation of relevant schemes of work, for most areas of DT. I have planned assessment, written course and unit booklets. I have worked with architects on the designs of 2 school provisions for DT areas. I have been a mentor for GTP students.

For the last 3 years I have worked as a Design Technology Technician/ part time teacher after I retired from full time teaching. This has given me a more detailed insight into the important work of the support DT Technicians provide. It also has honed my skills on the many machines and equipment used within a DT department

I also have experience in Art and Design 3D and Art and Design Graphics at both GCSE and A level having taught both in my current position.
