Bespoke CPD and consultancy is also provided to schools looking to develop their curriculum or facilities and upskill their staff in areas such as design sketching, CAD, robotics, composites and engineering design.

Simon brings a wealth of teaching and subject leadership experience from over twenty years in education: Brockwood Park (2022-), Bedales (2022-25), St John’s Leatherhead (2019-22), Winchester College (2008-19), RGS Guildford (2004-2008), China UK College (2004).

He was previously an examiner of A-level D&T: Systems & Control (AQA) and has taught OCR, AQA and CIE courses at GCSE, IGCSE and A-level. He has delivered various extra-curricular programmes including Greenpower, F1 in Schools, Young Engineers, Young Enterprise and STEM, and led numerous domestic and international trips.

Simon has also been a visiting tutor at Imperial College / Royal College of Art on their undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters) programmes in Design Engineering and Global Design Innovation.

His training in H&S dates back to his role as a Construction Project Management for Lend Lease (1997-2004) alongside his studies in Engineering (MEng) at the universities of Cambridge and Nottingham.

Simon is passionate about creativity in education and supports D&T departments looking to inspire the next generation of designers, architects and engineers. His approach to H&S training is to encourage positive engagement of staff and pupils, finding the fun and enjoyment along the way. He is a Senior Registered D&T H&S Consultant able to deliver the full range of training on machinery and equipment, and is intimately familiar with BS 4163 (2021) and happy to advise schools in terms of compliance.
