Course Overview 

This full-day, in-person course is designed for primary teachers and subject leaders who want to develop a high-quality design and technology (D&T) curriculum and engaging lessons. Whether you are new to D&T or looking to refine your existing provision, this hands-on session will provide you with the tools and confidence to deliver purposeful, impactful learning. 

The course explores best practice through the acclaimed planning resource Projects on a Page (POAP) — a flexible scheme of work covering Food and Nutrition, Textiles, Structures, Mechanisms, Electronics, and Programming and Control. POAP supports schools in delivering a broad and balanced primary D&T curriculum.

Meet Your Trainer 

 Lol Conway – Curriculum and Professional Development Manager

Lol was a Design and Technology teacher for 14 years teaching students from years 7 to 13 in comprehensive secondary schools. She has been a Head of Department for 7 of those years and was a College/Pastoral Leader for 2. During her time as Head of Department she took a department that was struggling to a thriving and outstanding faculty within the school.

Lol has also worked as a Primary Teacher setting up and delivering EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Design and Technology in her school and developing a Curriculum Pathway for the subject so as to create an effective through Curriculum into KS3 and beyond.
