This programme, supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, aims to improve the speaking and listening skills of Key Stage 3 students through delivery of a D&T project. For full details of the project go to the Improving speaking and listening skills through D&T projects page.
Guidance on levels for speaking and listening, reading and writing, and self assessment forms for students to help determine their confidence and abilities in discussions, interviewing and research, and presenting to an audience.
Some resources included are from the previous National Curriculum and contain examples and information on levels that are no longer applied in the 2014 curriculum. However, these remain useful tools for teachers to establish baselines and progress in students’ skills levels.
