This course will enable delegates to acquire H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands on’ approach using an overhand planer and thicknesser to cover a range of wood-machining processes that are commonly required to accurately and safely prepare materials within school workshops. Delegates will also receive a course pack containing current legislation and digital resources, and the knowledge, skills and understanding required to safely use this machine in schools.
This course does not include the setting or sharpening of plane blades.
The course is suitable for teachers, technicians and other staff who are required to use this equipment. All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
Please bring your own PPE, i.e. safety goggles, protective apron and appropriate footwear.
Refreshments and light lunch will be provided.
