D&T Association at the West Midlands Manufacturing Festival

Published 26th February 2026

The D&T Association was pleased to attend the West Midlands Manufacturing Festival today, an industry event focused on inspiring the next generation of engineers and manufacturers and addressing the ongoing skills gap in UK industry. The festival brought together manufacturers, educators and young people for a day of interactive demonstrations, careers engagement and live showcases of modern manufacturing technologies.

Our Director of Education, Ryan Ball, and Customer Service Officer, Amelia Wright, were in attendance, engaging with exhibitors and teachers and representing the association’s commitment to supporting high-quality Design and Technology education. The event highlighted the importance of connecting schools with industry to broaden students’ awareness of the opportunities within manufacturing and engineering pathways.

The West Midlands Manufacturing Festival aims to bring manufacturers and local schools together to demonstrate the innovation, creativity and career opportunities in modern manufacturing, helping young people see the breadth of future careers available to them.

We look forward to continuing collaboration with industry partners to support careers education and inspire young people towards D&T and related STEM pathways.
