Celebrating future talent at Graduate Fashion Week
Published 20th June 2025
We had the pleasure of attending Graduate Fashion Week in London last week – a brilliant celebration of emerging talent, full of creativity, innovation and purpose.
A showcase of creativity and purpose
Across the shows and exhibitions, it was clear just how thoughtfully students are engaging with the world around them. From sustainable materials and experimental textiles to tech-integrated fashion and bold social commentary, their work showed imagination, skill and a real sense of direction.
Designing for impact
One standout moment was discovering a graduate who salvages abandoned tents from UK music festivals, reimagining and repurposing them into unisex apparel and accessories. It was a striking example of circular design thinking – a powerful reminder of how sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand. The concept not only addressed the issue of waste but turned it into something wearable, creative and thought-provoking – a brilliant talking point for the classroom.
A powerful reminder for the classroom
Throughout the event, it was fantastic to see how design and technology are being used in fresh, meaningful ways. Students are clearly thinking critically and creatively about the impact of their work – exploring identity, sustainability and the future through design.
Inspiration to take back to school
For teachers, it was a valuable reminder of the role design and technology plays in empowering young people to solve problems, challenge convention and make their voices heard. We left feeling inspired by what we saw – not just because of the quality of work, but because of the thinking behind it.
Events like this shine a spotlight on the next generation of designers – and give us all plenty to take back to the classroom.
