Published 16th October 2025
Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food Schools programme is helping teachers inspire students with essential cooking skills and healthy eating habits. At its heart is 10 Cooking Skills for Life, a free, curriculum-linked set of resources designed to teach Key Stage 3 students the fundamental skills they need to cook confidently and independently. Jamie believes that learning to cook is just as important as reading or writing, and this programme brings that vision straight into the classroom.
By signing up, teachers get access to:

Linking cooking skills with design thinking
The programme also works seamlessly with ‘Inspired by Industry’s’ Mindful Chef context, giving students the chance to explore modern recipe box design. Whether focusing on cooking and nutrition or packaging design, students can create meals that could be broken down into individual ingredients for a recipe box, adding real-world context and creativity to their learning. ‘Inspired by Industry’ is free for all teachers to use, with additional member-only tasks and activities available for Design & Technology Association members.
