DesignLab Nation

Published 7th July 2022

DesignLab Nation is part of the V&A’s National Schools Programme, which aims to inspire the next generation of designers, makers and innovators and expand the reach of the V&A collections. The programme brings together secondary schools in partnership with regional museums, designers, industries and the V&A to engage students and support teachers through in-depth design projects.

There are still places available for their CPD session for secondary school teachers at Ipswich Museum on Thursday 14 July from 4–6.30pm.

This CPD session will introduce teachers to DesignLab Nation, with the opportunity to explore this year's theme of boatbuilding through Ipswich Museum's collections, loans from the V&A, and a hands-on practical session with designer Liz Brandon-Jones. This will provide teachers with skills and ideas that they can take back to the classroom.

It will also introduce teachers to next year's DesignLab challenge, whose theme is furniture making, as well as other opportunities for engagement from both the V&A and Ipswich Museums.

This session is open to teachers from all departments (STEM).

Please contact Lisa Temple-Cox lisa.temple-cox@colchester.gov.uk to book your place.
