KS3 RISO printed zines workshop
Running in May, June and July 2026 on selected Thursdays, 10:30 – 12:00, this new hands-on workshop introduces students to the world of zines as powerful tools for self-expression and communication. KS3 classes explore the history and cultural significance of zines before collaboratively designing and producing their own publication.
Working in teams, students develop graphic design skills through collage, typography, layout, layering and colour experimentation. The final zines are produced using RISO printing technology, creating bold, textured outcomes that celebrate creative risk-taking and experimentation. The workshop strongly supports curriculum links to design and technology and art & design, with a focus on collaboration, visual communication and design thinking.
SEND creative workshops (EYFS–KS3)
Taking place on Thursday 25th June, Thursday 2nd July and Thursday 9th July 2026, these specialist sessions are designed for groups of children and young people with SEND, sensory differences and/or neurodivergent learners in both specialist and mainstream settings.
Teachers can choose from two themes: Materials & Texture or Storytelling & Performance. Each workshop is designed to support engagement, communication and creative confidence, aligning with the DfE Engagement Model and enabling accessible, meaningful participation for all learners.
Free school visits: Inside Aardman
Schools can also book free weekday morning visits (Monday to Thursday, term time) to Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends. This interactive exhibition offers KS2 and KS3 learners a behind-the-scenes look at stop-motion animation, from model making and storyboarding to sound design and production. A free Teachers Guide is available to support teachers with guiding their students around the exhibition. Download the guide below.
