2 Day Secondary Materials Health & Safety SMHS - Initial Training Course (JG)

This two day course is ideally suited to delegates new to the subject with little experience in DT. This course is suitable for teachers, technicians, TA's and those supporting learners in the workshop. This course will enable delegates to acquire H&S accreditation certification through a hands on approach using the following:
Day 1 - drilling machine; sanding machine; portable power tools (drill & sander); power fret saw; hand tools; plastics moulding equipment
Day 2 (metal focussed) - hands tools for metalwork; guillotines, shears & trimmers; off-hand grinding; power hacksaw for metal cutting; heat processes for metal to include: forge work, brazing and silver soldering, pewter casting, soft soldering for electronics; polishing and buffing machines.
All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
Both days must be attended to achieve this accreditation.
