Advocacy and Policy
Design and technology is at a crossroads. Through our advocacy and policy work, we’re pushing to protect and strengthen the subject for the future.
Drive the Future of D&T Education
We view our work as central to the future development of design and technology as a subject. We seek to initiate and find funding sources for essential research into the subject and its delivery, create resources and run training courses that help shape effective delivery of the subject in primary and secondary schools across England and Wales and act as thought generators and leaders for the subject.
Shape Policy Through Strategic Partnerships
Much of the Association’s work now involves working with thought leaders and policymakers in industry and government to ensure all see the value in a design and technology education and support its growth nationally.
A Vision Shaped by Teachers
The 'Reimagining D&T' Vision Paper was developed through nationwide consultations with teachers, both in-person and online, across nine UK cities. Their insights shaped key recommendations aimed at revitalising design and technology education for the 21st century.
