Secondary Core Health & Safety Refresher Training (SCHS) – Online Twilight Course

An online twilight refresher course for Design & Technology teachers and technicians who have previously completed Secondary Core Health & Safety (SCHS) training and need to refresh their knowledge and accreditation.

The session is being delivered by Paul Anderson and Thomas Walland, both Registered Design & Technology Health & Safety Consultants (RDTHSCs), and has been arranged as an evening session to minimise disruption to teaching.

The course will revisit the key principles of health and safety within Design & Technology, including current legislation and responsibilities, risk assessment, safe management of D&T workshops and teaching spaces, COSHH, LEV, PPE, electrical safety, inspection and maintenance requirements, and the application of relevant guidance and standards including BS 4163.

The session is intended to help participants update their knowledge, reflect on current practice and maintain confidence in managing Health & Safety within D&T.

Delivered online as a live twilight session on Zoom.
