Secondary Materials Health and Safety (SMHS) - Initial Training Course (JP) 07/12/26

This course will enable participants to acquire H&S accreditation certification through a ‘hands on’ approach using the following equipment:

• Drilling Machines
• Power Fret/Scroll Saw
• Sanding Machines
• Heat Processes: Soft Soldering
• Portable Power Tools (Drills & Sanders)
• Hand Tools

They will also receive a course pack containing current legislation and digital resources, and the knowledge, skills and understanding required to safely use this machinery and equipment in schools.

This course is suitable for teachers, technicians, TA’s and those supporting learners in the workshop. All the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.

Please bring your own PPE, i.e. safety goggles, protective apron and appropriate footwear.

Refreshments will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.

The cost of this course is £230.00 (which includes the H&S accreditation fee).
