Writing a Scheme of Learning in D&T: Putting Pedagogy First
This 'Writing a Scheme of Learning in D&T: Putting Pedagogy First' course has been developed in response to the current climate of Design and Technology (which will be explored later) to give specialist and non-specialist teachers of Design and Technology the confidence to write and develop student-centred schemes of learning.
This course is for:
- Training teachers
- Early Career teachers
- Teachers of D&T (inc. non-specialists)
- Heads of Department/Subject Leads
The primary aim of this course is to give teachers of Design and Technology the skills and confidence to write Schemes of Learning that do the following:
- Provide a meaningful learning experience for students, based on knowledge and skills required for GCSE/A Level Design and Technology.
- Identify opportunities for enriching your curriculum.
- Include pedagogical methods that support your students in their own learning and understanding.
The course can be worked through at your own pace. It has a number of downloadable documents and links to resources to help you approach D&T delivery in potentially new ways that will hopefully embed deeper understanding with your students. Items in coral are tasks that should be completed along the way.
