Nene and Ramnoth School kick-starts the year with inspiring D&T INSET training
Teachers at Nene and Ramnoth School in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, began the new school year with a full day of bespoke design and technology INSET training delivered by the Design & Technology Association on the 2nd September 2025.
The primary school already uses Projects on a Page to support its design and technology curriculum, but staff wanted to strengthen their subject knowledge and develop confidence in structuring learning and managing classrooms for practical activities.
The training day focused on mechanisms as a theme, with teachers working through the full design and technology process of investigating, designing, making and evaluating. Practical tasks, demonstrations and discussions gave teachers the chance to explore hands-on strategies that they could take straight back into the classroom.
Abby, the school’s design and technology lead, praised the day:
“The CPD day was incredibly valuable and thoroughly enjoyable. It was highly informative, interactive, and very well paced, with everything clearly laid out and easy to follow. I came away feeling inspired and much more confident in my practice. I would happily book again and recommend it without hesitation.”Executive principal Sam echoed the success of the event:
“It was a really well-received day and great to hear laughter and so much teamwork happening at the beginning of a school year.”
By the end of the INSET, staff reported feeling energised, empowered and ready to deliver design and technology lessons with confidence.
