Safe Use of Planer/Thicknesser Machines (S8HS) - Initial Training Course (JP) 30/11/26
Participants will undertake a variety of practical exercises during the day, using the overhand planer and thicknesser, to cover a range of wood-machining processes that are commonly required to accurately and safely prepare materials within school workshops.
They will also receive a course pack containing current legislation and digital resources, and the knowledge, skills and understanding required to safely use this machine in schools.
This course is suitable for teachers, technicians and other staff who are required to use this equipment, and all the activities conform to the current D&T Association Training Standards.
Please bring your own PPE, i.e. safety goggles, ear protection, an apron and appropriate footwear.
Refreshments will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.
The cost of this course is £220.00 (which includes the H&S accreditation fee).
