Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is back
Give your students the opportunity to design, develop and pitch their ideas
What could your students create if they were challenged to solve a problem that genuinely matters to them?
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is back for 2026-27, giving 11-18-year-olds across the UK and Ireland the opportunity to explore real-world challenges and develop technology-based ideas that could make a difference.
For design and technology teachers, it’s a chance to take students beyond the initial idea and support them through a complete innovation journey. Students can work independently or in teams of up to four, developing their creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills as they turn a challenge into a potential solution.
The programme has been designed to work alongside existing school priorities and is already reaching more than a third of secondary schools across the UK and Ireland. It can provide a useful context for classroom discussions, projects and activities focused on design, technology and innovation.
From first spark to final pitch
Students begin by developing their idea between September 2026 and January 2027, with entries closing on the 18th January. Selected teams then receive support to develop their ideas further, before nine finalists are invited to pitch to a panel of experts at the final in April 2027.
There are plenty of opportunities for teachers and students along the way, including mentoring, work experience and technology for successful students and schools, as well as CPD and technology prizes for teachers.
Returning teachers can also receive an Ideation Poster, with the first 300 eligible teachers able to use it to spark ideas for the competition or other innovation activities in the classroom.*
