Andy Topliss is an accomplished educator, Registered Design & Technology Health & Safety Consultant (RDTHSC), and former Head of Faculty for Art, Design, Engineering and Technology, with over 20 years' experience in secondary education.
A graduate of Nottingham Trent University with a First-Class Honours degree in Design and Technology with Education, Andy has taught and led departments in a variety of schools across the UK and overseas, developing extensive expertise in curriculum leadership, workshop health and safety, and teacher training.
Andy delivers a wide range of Design and Technology Association (DATA) accredited health and safety courses, in line with BS4163:2021 +A1:2022, adapting the content and delivery to meet the specific requirements of individual schools, colleges and organisations for both initial and refresher training.
In addition to his consultancy work, Andy collaborates with several examination boards as an author, principal examiner, principal moderator, editor and course writer. He has also contributed to the development of published educational resources, supporting high standards in Design and Technology education and assessment.
