I graduated from The College of St Mark and St John, Marjon’s, Exeter University, with a B.Ed. Hons degree and have been a Design and Technology teacher for over 40 years. I have worked in both independent and state-maintained schools, I have been a Head of Department and taught a variety of subject syllabuses covering C.D.T., Design and Realisation and Graphic Communication, Resistant Materials, Graphics and Product Design at GCSE and Product Design and Design Engineering at Advanced Level.
I believe very strongly in the subject of Design and Technology and its importance in the curriculum and to the development of our young people. I also recognise the challenges faced in delivering practical subjects in schools and colleges and the need for training, recognition and support, for all those involved in the delivery of the subject on a daily basis.
