I live in Nottingham now but I am very willing to travel anywhere in the country I used to live in Essex from where I provided DATA Health & Safety training to schools and colleges in Essex, Central and Greater London, and Suffolk. I enjoy travelling, indeed I worked for seven years in a British school in Germany. I would be most interested in Health & Safety training abroad. I have relations in Glasgow so I can always stay there and train staff in schools and colleges in Scotland.
I am a very experienced Head of Technology with over 30 years of teaching in schools from Nottingham to Exeter. I was a very hands-on Head of Faculty, teaching students in Years 7 to 13 until 2013 when I changed my occupation to Health & Safety consulting. I am qualified to train in all modules of Resistant Materials and the Core for all aspects. I have a wealth of experience of working with students and staff.
A key to effective education in Design Technology is the well laid-out workshop with tools and equipment effectively organized to promote student’s independence and avoid the frustration of trying to find things.
My own safety record with working with young people is excellent. I see the training and regulation of Health & Safety as enabling users to work efficiently rather than just abiding by the rules.
I prefer to provide Health & Safety training in the school requesting the service, since the environment and exact type of equipment being used play a vital role in effective training, particularly for inexperienced staff. I would recommend learning support assistants and site staff to undertake the DATA H&S training as well as qualified teachers and technicians.
