Since graduating from Loughborough University in 2000 with a degree in Education and Industrial Design & Technology, I have taught in various excellent educational institutions, both State and Independent, Co-educational and Single-Sex. I have gained valuable experience in the classroom, working with multiple curricula, examination boards, and ensuring the safe use of equipment to maximize benefits. I have taught at all Secondary Key Stages and consistently achieved exceptional results with my examination classes
I have been a Teacher for 25 years and held a number of roles including Second in Department and Head of Outdoor Education. I am now a full-time D&TA consultant engaged in Training, Inspections, Servicing and LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) testing following successfully passing the P601 qualification from the British Occupational Health Society (BOHS), Dust Monitoring and Machine Maintenance including supply and commissioning. Additionally, I offer risk management support, room layout and facility planning, and wider Design and Technology consultancy. I am an experienced Moderator for AQA Design and Technology and can offer valuable advice in this area. My knowledge of practical work and health and safety within the Design Technology workshop is exceptional.
Another passion of mine is Outdoor Education, where I have trained adults and children throughout my life, enhancing my training and interpersonal skills.
I hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I am DBS checked, with a portable DBS certificate, and as a registered cover teacher, I am fully up-to-date with Safeguarding issues, undergoing refresher training annually. I have conducted training in many schools to date and I look forward to meeting you.
