GCSE Textiles Rescue - Zigzag Appliqué

Ages 14 to 16

This practical video introduces zigzag appliqué and shows how the technique can be used to add decorative shapes, lettering and motifs to textile products.

The demonstration guides students through creating a template, applying fusible web, cutting and positioning the fabric shape, then using a sewing machine to produce a neat zigzag stitch around its edges.

The nine minute video can be used to introduce the technique, support a classroom demonstration or help GCSE students develop accuracy and confidence in their practical textile skills.
