SEN Communication Symbols
This comprehensive collection of accessible symbols has been created in partnership with Widgit, whose symbol system is widely used to support people with learning disabilities and communication needs.
The resource helps teachers create more accessible D&T classrooms and learning materials. Each pictorial symbol can be used alongside text or as an alternative to it, helping learners understand information that might otherwise be difficult to access.
The symbols can support learners with special educational needs and disabilities, reduce language barriers for pupils who use English as an additional language, encourage independent learning and help teachers create social stories. They can also be used to label tools, equipment and areas within the D&T classroom.
The downloadable PDF symbols can be cut out, copied, pasted and resized to suit your requirements.
