Progression Into Industry Next Steps For D&T Students

The webinar, delivered by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and colleagues, explored the opportunities T Levels offer to design and technology students after GCSE, helping them make informed choices about their next steps into sixth form, further study and employment.

Attendees were introduced to T Levels, including how industry placements can help students develop practical skills and open doors to future careers. The session explored relevant pathways across engineering and manufacturing, metal and timber work, textiles, electrotechnical and graphic design, highlighting the connections with design and technology.

The webinar also provided opportunities to ask questions and signposted a range of free resources to support teachers in helping students explore their post-16 options.

The session was also relevant to colleagues teaching art and science, as well as parents supporting young people with their future choices.
