GCSE Textiles Rescue - Closed Seam

This practical video introduces the closed seam and explains how it can be used to join pieces of fabric neatly and securely in textile products and garments.

The demonstration guides students through positioning the fabric with the right sides together, machining an accurate seam, finishing the seam allowances together to prevent fraying and pressing them to one side.

The three minute video can be used to introduce the technique, support a classroom demonstration or help GCSE students improve the accuracy and quality of their textile construction skills.
