What is Inspired by Industry?
Inspired by Industry is a set of free KS3 Design and Technology resources built around real industry design challenges. Created with industry partners, each context shows students how design works in the real world and why it matters.
The resources are practical, classroom-ready and flexible, making them easy to adapt to your schemes of work while supporting design thinking and subject knowledge.
Adapting for Your Classroom
Choose the contexts and units that best suit your curriculum. Use them as standalone projects or integrate them into existing lessons. Challenges build progressively across KS3, developing creativity, independence and problem solving skills. Each presentation includes industry insights and guides students through the design thinking process before they apply their learning. An accompanying PDF provides practical teaching guidance. All contexts are mapped to the D&T Progression Framework.
